This Mallayer antique rug measures 7' 4" x 17' 4" and carries a long, vertically extended field softened by age. The allover floral pattern and border remain visible beneath pronounced distress, with rust, brown, cream, and ivory tones broken by weathered pale passage and muted contrast. Its surface reads richly worn, yet still balanced, with the pattern dissolving into a quiet rhythm across the length. Circa 1900 - 1920, it reflects the grounded character and faded elegance associated with a well-aged Mallayer. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
