This Mallayer antique rug measures 9' 11" x 14' 10" and presents a deeply worn, beautifully softened field of floral and geometric detail. The composition feels anchored by a central medallion, secondary medallions, and a narrow border that frames the composition with quiet structure. Neutral, brown, white, and cream tones are layered with darker contrast, while the high distress lends a faded, timeworn patina. Circa 1905 - 1920, it carries the visual weight and restraint that define the best aged Mallayer rugs, with abrasion and loss contributing to its atmospheric, collected presence.
