This Mallayer antique rug measures 11' 0" x 18' 0" and presents a softened allover composition in cream, ivory, muted teal, slate blue, rust, and brown. The field carries a layered floral pattern that reads almost fresco-like, with a refined border enclosing the design in a quiet frame. Medium distress has gently faded the contrast, allowing the pattern to settle into a calm, weathered surface. Circa 1920 - 1935, it balances ornament and restraint with the depth and softness that define a well-aged Mallayer. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
