This Mallayer antique rug measures 10' 10" x 21' 9" and presents a long, architectural field in washed teal and earth tones. The elongated central panel is filled with scrolling floral vines and repeated boteh-like forms, while the surrounding borders hold the composition with layered rust, brown, and ivory detail. Areas of visible wear and soft abrasion lend the surface a lived-in clarity, allowing the pattern to read with warmth and depth. Circa 1890 - 1910, it carries the quiet balance and softened palette often sought in a well-aged Mallayer.
