This Mallayer antique rug measures 10' 0" x 19' 9" and presents a quietly layered field of faded floral ornament, framed by a narrow, patterned border. The neutral and brown palette has softened into taupe, ivory, stone grey, and muted olive, with visible fading that gives the composition a hazy, timeworn depth. Broad areas of wear and bleaching interrupt the surface, leaving a stripped-back, almost painterly finish. Circa 1920 - 1945, it reflects the restrained elegance and lived-in character often associated with early 20th-century Mallayer weaving.
