This Mallayer antique rug measures 12' 1" x 20' 5" and carries an allover paisley field softened into a pale, atmospheric composition. The restrained palette of faded aqua, ivory, taupe, and dusty rose gives the surface a washed, layered character, while the border remains just legible in muted floral detail. High distress has created generous wear, with broad areas of lightening and textural variation that read as part of its history. Circa 1910 - 1925, it offers the quiet presence and faded intricacy associated with a well-worn Mallayer. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
