This Mallayer antique rug measures 2' 7" x 10' 9", and carries the quiet depth that comes from years of softened use. An allover floral lattice unfolds across the field, held by a narrow border and slender guard bands in a muted frame. The palette moves through brown, taupe, muted rust, sage, and ivory, with the surface now gently washed by time. Circa 1895 - 1910, the composition feels ordered yet atmospheric, with visible abrasion and fading that add to its layered presence rather than detract from it. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
