This Mallayer antique rug measures 7' 8" x 12' 1" and reads with a softly weathered, layered presence. A faded rust ground is lifted by teal blue, ivory, taupe, and muted sage, while the allover floral field and framed border dissolve into a richly worn surface. The composition retains its structure, yet the patterns have blurred into a calm, time-softened rhythm. Circa 1920 - 1935, it carries the unmistakable depth and patina of an antique rug, with abrasion and fading that add to its tactile character. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
