This Mallayer antique rug measures 5' 10" x 11' 1" and carries a deeply worn, time-softened surface that reveals its layered pattern in washes of cream, brown, muted rust, and faded teal. The field reads as an allover floral lattice, while the border remains legible with narrow bands and floral guards. Heavy distress has lifted much of the contrast, giving the composition a quiet, atmospheric depth. Circa 1900 - 1915, it feels grounded in age, with the visual character of a rug that has been lived with and beautifully reduced over time.
