This Mallayer antique rug measures 13' 6" x 19' 6" and carries a washed, quietly layered presence. A faint central medallion emerges through a softly faded field, while the border holds onto leaf, palmette, and small floral forms in terracotta, sage, and cream. The palette reads as weathered neutral with hints of pale aqua and blush, giving the surface a luminous, timeworn character. With its high distress and softened edges of pattern, it feels airy yet grounded. Circa 1910 - 1930. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
