This Mallayer antique rug measures 3' 0" x 12' 9" and presents a long, slender composition in washed sky blue, ivory, rust red, and muted brown. A sequence of geometric medallions runs through the centre, flanked by small framed motifs and a finely drawn floral border that keeps the design crisp despite visible age. The surface shows soft fading and light abrash, giving the field a calm, timeworn glow. Circa 1910 - 1925, it carries the layered character and restrained rhythm that define the most enduring Mallayer rugs. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
