This Mallayer antique rug measures 4' 6" x 6' 7" and presents a richly worked, allover floral composition softened by age. A pointed central medallion in muted blue and faded red anchors the field, while the surrounding pattern unfolds in dense blossoms, rosettes, and lattice-like detail. The border frame carries complementary floral bands in neutral, brown, and gold tones, with quiet traces of colour throughout. Circa 1925 - 1940, the surface shows medium distress, gentle fading, and a timeworn patina that lends depth without obscuring the design. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
