This Mallayer antique rug measures 3' 4" x 16' 8" and presents a long, narrow profile softened by time. The field is woven with an allover lattice of floral-geometric medallions, framed by a restrained patterned border that remains legible despite pronounced wear. Neutral brown, olive, faded blue, and ivory tones create a quiet, weathered surface with areas of abrasion and fading that add depth rather than distraction. Circa 1915 - 1930, it carries the grounded character and lived-in nuance often associated with a well-worn Mallayer. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
