This Mallayer antique rug measures 2' 5" x 13' 10" and presents a long, refined profile with a repeated diamond lattice worked across a softly faded ground. Earthy brown, cream, and neutral tones are lifted by muted blue and rust accents in the border, giving the piece quiet depth. The field shows pronounced wear and light loss that flatten the surface in places, adding to its timeworn character. Circa 1890 - 1910, it reflects the restrained geometry and layered colour typical of a Mallayer woven with an understated, enduring hand.
