This Mallayer antique rug measures 3' 3" x 15' 2" and presents a long, refined field softened by age. The composition layers faded floral motifs over an ivory ground, with taupe, brown, muted teal, and traces of rust lending depth beneath the wear. A narrow border frames the design with quiet repetition, while the field shows open, medallion-like pauses that echo through the length. Circa 1900 - 1920, it carries the character of an antique rug that has been gently worn into a tactile, atmospheric surface with softened contrast and visible abrash.
