This Mallayer antique rug measures 3' 1" x 12' 10" and carries a long, narrow composition with a softened central field in muted aqua, cream, and faded red. Repeating floral medallions and latticework unfold through the centre, while the border introduces a more geometric rhythm with stepped forms and small blossom motifs. The surface shows low distress and even fading, giving the pattern a quiet, weathered depth. Circa 1905 - 1920, it reflects the restrained colour balance and intricate village character often associated with a well-aged Mallayer.
