This Mallayer antique rug measures 6' 4" x 16' 7", with a long, graceful format and a quietly worn surface that softens the floral drawing into a near-abstract field. The border remains legible, carrying a traditional repeat in muted terracotta and cream, while the interior shows faded blue-green accents and a pale, timeworn ground. Its high distress gives the piece a layered, lived-in character without losing the structure of its composition. Circa 1900 - 1930, it reads as restrained, tactile, and deeply atmospheric. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
