This Mallayer antique rug measures 7' 9" x 19' 4" and presents a long, rhythmic field of floral latticework framed by a restrained border. The composition layers dark brown and navy with softened ivory, rose, olive, and gold, giving the surface a lived-in depth that feels both ornate and grounded. Repeated medallion forms step down the center, while the wide field holds a finely worked allover pattern. Circa 1900 - 1920, the rug shows medium distress, with visible fading and wear that soften its edges and enrich its tonal range.
