This Mallayer antique rug in a generous 10' 9" x 13' 6" format carries a softened, timeworn presence across an allover floral field. The palette resolves into ivory, cream, muted teal, taupe, and faded rust, with the border offering a clearer read of the original ornament. Much of the centre has been gently washed by age and wear, leaving a luminous, textural surface that feels layered rather than flat. Circa 1900 - 1915, it balances decorative density with a quiet, weathered finish. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
