This Mallayer antique rug measures 2' 7" x 16' 0" and carries a long, narrow field filled with repeating medallion forms, floral scrollwork, and a finely framed border. The palette moves between neutral ground tones, brown, gold, faded teal, and softened terracotta, creating a layered, timeworn surface with quiet contrast. Light wear and even fading give the composition a gentle patina without obscuring its structure. Circa 1920 - 1935, it reads with the restrained elegance and collected character associated with a well-aged Mallayer. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
