This Mallayer antique rug measures 6' 5" x 12' 11" and carries a softly weathered, elongated composition with a faded blue centre surrounded by neutral brown and cream borders. The field is heavily attenuated, allowing the drawn geometry and floral echoes to appear in and out of view with a quiet, layered rhythm. Signs of medium wear lend the surface a dry, tactile character without obscuring the design.
