This Mallayer antique rug measures 10' 4" x 16' 5", offering a broad field softened by age and use. The composition reads with layered floral tracework, a narrow framed border, and quietly rhythmic side borders that hold the design in place. Muted sage, teal, taupe, and brown tones sit in a washed, timeworn register, giving the surface a hushed depth. Circa 1900 - 1920, it carries the patina of long wear, with faded passages that let the pattern appear and recede across the pile.
