This Mallayer antique rug measures 3' 5" x 12' 10", with a long, slender format that draws the eye through a softened floral field. An intricate border of angular motifs frames layered blossoms, lattice-like forms, and small medallions scattered across an ivory ground touched by muted sage, dusty blue, charcoal, and rust. The surface shows age and gentle wear, with a lived-in patina that tempers the pattern’s detail. Circa 1910 - 1925, it carries the quiet richness and visual complexity associated with Mallayer weaving, while remaining airy, weathered, and composed.
