Amritsa in a warm gold field punctuated by a rust-red central medallion and delicate vine ornament. The composition reads as a studied balance of pattern and restraint, with a fine, all-over flowering vine and a series of borders that include calligraphic panels and rosettes. Woven in wool and showing low distress, the surface retains a tactile patina and soft lustre. This antique rug, measured at 9' 11" x 13' 0", carries quiet age in its abrash and gentle wear while preserving much of its original motif clarity. Circa 1895 - 1920.
