A luminous Khotan runner in wool, this antique rug presents a saturated red field organized by repeating geometric medallions and small diamond fillers. Cream and white accents temper the ground, their gentle fading producing subtle colour variation across the plane. A maze-like meander inner border and patterned guard frame the design with measured restraint while preserving visual rhythm. Low visible distress leaves a supple surface and an even patina, with modest edge rubbing that affirms age. The piece measures 6' 8" x 13' 5" and offers a tactile study in pattern, scale, and material. Circa 1885 - 1900.
