Generous in scale and quietly refined, this Sultanabad presents an all-over floral and vine lattice woven in wool with a warm red field and neutral-brown accents. The repeating palmettes and a broad scrolling floral border read with relaxed symmetry while low distress gives the surface a softly worn, tactile presence. The hand shows gentle abrash and even fading that emphasize its layered colour. This antique rug measures 12' 8" x 18' 3" and carries a restrained, historic charm. Circa 1885 - 1925. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
