This antique Sultanabad in wool, 10' 6" x 13' 0", reads as a study in restrained colour and pattern. An ivory field hosts repeating diamond medallions and floral rosettes arranged in a tightly woven lattice, balanced by a broad floral border and narrow guard stripes. Muted indigo, faded rose, olive and warm tan appear like layered washes of watercolor; even abrash and gentle surface wear soften the motifs and lend a tactile patina. The overall effect is quietly aged and design-forward, where the hand of traditional weaving is evident in the rhythm of the pattern.
