This Sultanabad presents an attenuated field of floral medallions and scrolling vine work in a quiet neutral and brown spectrum. Woven in wool, the composition reads through a haze of cream and white abrash where pile loss and age have softened the motifs. The border’s roundel cadence remains visible beneath surface wear, giving the piece a layered, timeworn presence. Rich tactile patina and high distress animate the surface while the original design logic persists. Circa 1885 - 1905, this antique rug measures 10' 2" x 14' 0" and carries a restrained, heritage character born of long use.
