An expansive Bakhtiari in wool, this 12' 3" x 20' 5" antique rug presents a restrained palette of cream and neutral tones threaded with pale blue and tan. The allover palmette lattice and scrolling floral medallions sit beneath a softened surface; medium distress and gentle abrash reveal layered colour and texture. Time has tempered the pattern into a quiet, tactile field with a warm, lived patina. Circa 1940 - 1960. The wool construction reads as both structural and supple, a studied example of Bakhtiari vocabulary softened by age. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
