This Bakhtiari antique rug measures 11' 8" x 16' 4" and presents a richly worked field of floral and geometric ornament in deep navy, rust, ivory, and slate blue. The composition feels layered and orderly at once, with a dense central design held by a bold border of repeating star-like forms. Visible wear has softened the surface and introduced a luminous, timeworn patina without diminishing the pattern’s clarity. Circa 1925 - 1945, it carries the grounded elegance and textural depth associated with the Bakhtiari tradition. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
