This Khotan is a quietly luminous antique rug in wool, its broad neutral field threaded with coral-red motifs and pale cream accents. Patterned rows of stylised florets and columnar tassel forms float across a softened ground, while a coral guard border and geometric cartouches frame the composition. The surface shows medium distress and gentle abrash that heighten the woven colour harmonies. The rug reads as both worn and composed, tactile in its faded punctuation and resilient in wool structure. Circa 1885 - 1915. Size: 6' 6" x 12' 11". The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
