A quiet, tactile Kerman in wool, this 8' 7" x 11' 6" example presents a dense floral vine field punctuated by palmettes and repeating rosette cartouches in the border. The neutral, brown and gold palette has mellowed with time, revealing layered tonal depth and muted blue-green highlights. Surface abrasion and even abrash soften the pattern edges and lend a low, supple pile that reads like a lived surface.
