This Kurd runner in wool, 3' 5" x 7' 8", presents a narrow column of stacked geometric guls framed by multiple guarded borders. The red and cream field is warmed by brown and rust accents, the motifs rendered with crisp tribal geometry and a compact rhythm. Surface wear is low, allowing the pile’s soft sheen and subtle abrash to remain part of the rug’s tactile narrative. Read as an antique rug with a composed, workshop-born language, the repeating cartouches and serrated leaf forms give the piece both structure and motion. Circa 1885 - 1900.
