This Kurd antique rug, 4' 2" x 5' 11", presents a densely ordered field of geometric medallions and floral forms in deep brown, ivory, terracotta, and faded turquoise. Multiple borders, including a finely worked outer guard, lend structure to the composition while the darker ground keeps the pattern crisp. The wool surface shows visible age through softened contrast, scattered wear, and areas of abrash-like variation that add depth rather than distraction. Circa 1900 - 1930, it carries the grounded character and lived-in texture that define a well-preserved village weaving. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
