A Khotan antique rug with a resonant red field and three commanding round medallions articulated in cream and neutral grey. The design balances geometric corner brackets and stylised rosette roundels with a layered multi-band border that shows a subtle, age-softened palette. Handwoven wool retains tactile clarity even with low, even wear and whispered abrash at the margins. The surface reads as both saturated and lived-in, the motifs held in reserve by warm neutrals. Circa 1920 - 1940. Measurements: 5' 7" x 11' 9". The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
