This Khotan runner reads as quietly worn and tactile, a soft-wool antique rug with a broad red field and a pale round medallion at its centre. A lattice of stylised floral motifs organizes the field while layered guard borders in cream and neutral frame the composition. The hand of age has mellowed the reds to warm, terracotta notes and introduced gentle abrash across the surface. Circa 1900 - 1915. Measures 4' 7" x 8' 10". The piece retains a deliberate stillness, a restrained palette and low distress that emphasise its textile craft and time-softened character.
