The composition pairs bold foliate and palmette motifs with a stepped border system where mid blues and warm neutrals have mellowed into layered tones. Surface abrasion and abrash reveal an active history, giving the weave a tactile, worn patina. Circa 1900 - 1930, the piece reads as an early 20th century example of Khotan design; medium distress is evident but the core geometry and colour relationships remain distinctly legible.
