This Nain presents a pale, garden-like field worked in ivory and cream tones, punctuated by muted green and soft blue accents. Finely scaled floral sprays and stylised willow motifs populate the allover composition, contained by a series of narrow guard borders. The wool shows a pleasing, time-softened surface and even abrash that reads like a faded patina. Medium distress gives the piece quiet depth without compromising its pattern language. An antique rug with an elegant, restrained palette, measured at 5' 3" x 7' 9" and offered with an informed visual date. Circa 1900 - 1920
