A Hamadan in wool with a quietly saturated palette and an architectural sense of repeat. The dense field holds geometric medallions, small floral motifs and abstract boteh forms that read as a tapestry of craft under soft abrash. A series of narrow inner borders and a patterned guard frame the composition, the reds and creams warming a deep neutral ground. Surface wear is low and even, giving the piece a cultivated patina that reveals pile and age without compromising pattern. Circa 1885 - 1905. Measures 4' 3" x 6' 3". This antique rug feels tactile, considered and quietly lived-in.
