This Hamadan antique rug measures 2' 10" x 13' 7" and carries a long, column-like composition softened by time. A dark, floral field is framed by a light, densely patterned border, with rust, cream, brown, and muted teal notes emerging through the wear. The surface has a lived-in, gently distressed character that gives the design an almost painterly depth. Circa 1910 - 1930, it reflects the graphic rhythm and layered ornament associated with Hamadan weaving, while remaining grounded and restrained in tone.
