A compact Tibetan wool rug, the 3' 0" x 4' 6" example reads as a study in concentrated pattern and tactile presence. A red outer field frames a narrow dark central stripe punctuated by three lobed medallions worked in white and cream, their surfaces softened by subtle abrash. The ecru guard borders carry scattered symbolic motifs and a restrained key-fret, the palette held to red, neutral and cream notes. Wear is modest and the pile retains a soft hand; this antique rug holds the quiet patina of time and craft. Circa 1950 - 1965
