A compact Turkaman rug in vibrant reds and soft neutrals, the field arranged in a tight repeat of diamond guls framed by narrow geometric guards. The wool shows a low level of wear, the pile retaining clear pattern and a tactile nap; subtle abrash gives depth to the red field. This small antique rug reads as both textural and graphic at 1' 2" x 2' 8", its preserved edges and short tassels lending a finished, lived-in quality. Circa 1850 - 1870. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
