Bakhshaish / 12497

A Bakhshaish with a warm red field, layered rust and pink tones and cool teal accents. The surface displays a repeated gul motif in hexagonal cells, each containing a restrained palmette, surrounded by several narrow floral guard borders. Wool pile retains a soft, tactile patina and shows low distress with even abrash that lends depth to the original dyes. The piece reads as an antique rug with an architectural rhythm and painterly surface, measured at 9' 7" x 10' 7". Circa 1885 - 1925. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
