This Bakhshaish antique rug measures 10' 7" x 13' 10" and presents a layered field of geometric medallions framed by a finely worked tribal border. The palette moves between cream, brown, rust red, and muted charcoal, with heavy distress that has softened the drawing into a beautifully weathered surface. Areas of abrasion and fading lend depth to the pattern, allowing the larger motifs to emerge and recede across the composition. Circa 1920 - 1940, it carries the grounded character and tactile quiet of a well-aged woven textile. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
