A quietly elegant Khotan in wool, its soft cream field patterned with a repeating floral lattice and small rosettes that read as texture at a distance. Red accents warm the composition while the narrow foliate inner border and roundel outer band provide a calm architectural frame. Surface wear and even fading lend the piece a patina of use; the hand-worn pile is tactile underfoot. This antique rug balances restraint and pattern with a heritage sensibility. Circa 1890 - 1910. Measures 6' 4" x 11' 7". The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
