A luminous red field defines this Khotan, arranged with three large circular medallions, smaller floral roundels and angular corner spandrels. Cream and grey registers accent the medallion outlines while warm ochre and black trace a cloud-band border that frames the composition. Woven in wool, the surface shows low, even wear and a softened, tactile pile; subtle abrash reads as layered time rather than damage. The balance of geometric form and painterly fading gives this antique rug a quiet, heritage presence. Circa 1900 - 1920. Measures 4' 0" x 8' 2".
