This Khotan runner (2' 7" x 12' 10") presents a muted, tactile rhythm: a neutral and cream field mapped by angular, tree-like medallions and punctuated by red rosettes. Woven in wool, the palette has softened with age into warm abrash and gentle surface wear. A narrow red border contains the repeating geometric lattice while subtle repairs and worn ends speak to sustained use. The overall effect is quietly architectural, rooted in handcraft and time. Circa 1890 - 1925. This antique rug reads as a lived object, at once graphic and quietly domestic.
