This Khotan antique rug measures 2' 6" x 5' 9" and presents a restrained, well-balanced composition in brown, red, and neutral tones. The long field is anchored by two pictorial cartouche motifs, linked by a narrow central stem and surrounded by small floral and vine forms that read with quiet clarity against the worn ground. A repeating border frames the design with rhythm and structure. Woven in wool, it shows medium distress, softened colour, and the kind of surface character that gives an antique rug its depth. Circa 1900 - 1930, it carries a composed, timeworn presence.
