This Khotan antique rug, measuring 3' 6" x 8' 1", presents a warm, time-softened field in brown, cream, and neutral tones. The composition moves from a compact floral border into a central procession of medallions, geometric rosettes, and abstract corner work, giving the surface a measured rhythm. Wool pile wear and gentle fading have mellowed the design, lending it a quieter, more atmospheric presence. Circa 1900 - 1930, it carries the restrained balance and layered ornament associated with Khotan weaving, with enough visible age to deepen its character without obscuring the pattern.
