This Bakhtiari antique rug measures 2' 6" x 3' 3" and presents a richly layered figural composition, centered by a seated mother and child within an oval medallion. The surrounding field is densely worked with floral sprays, vine scrolls, and a border of small blossoms that keeps the design animated from edge to edge. Deep red, navy, brown, ivory, green, and gold tones bring warmth and contrast, while the low distress allows the imagery to remain crisp. Circa 1925 - 1940, it carries the grounded character and narrative detail that define Bakhtiari weaving.
